"Corky taste" - the smell that occurs shortly after a wine is contaminated with a chemical called 2,4,6-trichloroanisole (TCA). This substance is produced when the cork comes into contact with moisture, chlorine, and mold. From the harvesting of cork to the bottling of wine, cork can be exposed to these three substances, leading to the formation of TCA. As long as the concentration reaches 4 parts per trillion, a person's nose can smell this corky smell. A wine with a slight corky taste may just smell like oak, but a wine with a strong taste may smell like moldy wet cardboard or old newspaper. In this situation, the rich aroma, fruit aroma, and oak aroma will be taken away by this moldy smell. Wine with a cork flavor is no harm to health. It just smells and tastes terrible, and the most serious problem is spending a lot of money on buying a bottle of inferior wine, and you can't know this before you open it. However, if you encounter a reputable merchant, he will replace the contaminated wine.
